With its 69 ski slopes extending over 100 km, Grand Tourmalet is the largest ski resort in the French Pyrenees

The Tourmalet is well known thanks to the images of the Tour de France.

At the foot of the Pic du Midi, Grand Tourmalet offers the largest ski area in the French Pyrenees. With 100 km. techniques and varied tracks and a ski area located between 1400 and 2500 m. altitude.

The group N’PY “New Chain of the Pyrenees” has met this season with seven other Pyrenean ski resorts to offer a series of services with the best value.

The domain of Grand Tourmalet complementarity has two stations in one:

- in the west, Barèges offers traditional charm and life of a Pyrenean village

- in the east, in the heart of the ski area, La Mongie has the amenities of a resort at the foot of the slopes, on a high mountain environment. Both ski areas are linked together. There are a total of 70 slopes and 36 lifts.

The station is a vast domain suitable for all types of sliding and is recognized for its high level of sport by organizing international competitions.

A free shuttle service is provided for up Artigues freriders from the Pic du Midi or from the station through Taoulet.

OUIBUS: an economic formula of buses to go skiing

Instead of going skiing by train or car, a good alternative may be to go by bus. Above all if your stays are short, OUIBUS takes you directly to the foot of the stations in order not to waste time and get to the slopes quickly!

Can I take my skis?
Traveling by bus also gives you the ability to carry your ski equipment which will be placed in the cargo hold of the bus. This includes a pair of skis or a snowboard, and a pair of boots. This material must be loaded in the hold, and provided the material is wrapped in suitable bags and labeled (name and phone number).
